Apostle Johnson Suleman has urged pastors and ministry leaders to take rest seriously, warning that neglecting their health can eventually cut their lives short.

“Ministry is long, life is short,” he said. “Don’t die at the expense of ministry.”

Suleman argued that ministry will continue even after an individual minister is gone, so pastors should not assume they must constantly be available to everyone.

He also made a striking observation about loyalty.

“Some people are not loyal to you, they are loyal to their need of you,” he said.

According to him, every pastor should build regular rest into their life.

“Every pastor must practice Sabbath,” he said, describing a day when a minister is not counseling, preaching or constantly answering calls.

He encouraged pastors to turn off their phones, eat, sleep and allow their bodies to recover.

Suleman also shared his own routine during ministry trips, saying he often rests after morning sessions, sleeps for one or two hours, prays, meditates and then prepares for the evening session.

His message was simple: rest is not laziness. Ministers should care for their bodies so they can serve faithfully for the long term.
