Apostle Johnson Suleman has advised men against paying transport fares to women simply to convince them to meet for a date, while also encouraging single ladies to become financially responsible when going out with potential partners.
Speaking during a sermon, the founder of Omega Fire Ministries questioned why a man should be expected to cover a woman’s transportation expenses when both individuals are meeting to explore a potentially beneficial relationship.
“If a lady tells you to send bike fare, leave her, leave her, leave her,” he declared.
According to the cleric, a relationship should involve mutual interest rather than placing all financial expectations on the man from the beginning.
“You have to pay for her transport to see you for something that will be mutually beneficial to both of you? Is she not praying for marriage? Are you not the one, the answer to the prayer?” he questioned.
He argued that men who begin relationships by accepting every financial demand may eventually find themselves expected to pay for other expenses.
Turning his attention to women, Apostle Suleman urged them not to make transport fare a condition for meeting someone.
He encouraged ladies to maintain their dignity and avoid creating the impression that their presence must be financially negotiated.
“Nobody can price you beyond your package,” he stated.
The cleric further advised women to carry enough money to cover their personal expenses whenever they go on a date, even when the man has offered to take them out.
According to him, having personal funds would help women make responsible decisions about what they order and prevent embarrassing situations if their date becomes unable or unwilling to pay.
He humorously suggested that women should order only what they can personally afford, rather than assuming someone else will settle every bill.
His remarks reflect his position that dating should involve mutual respect, financial responsibility and personal dignity rather than unnecessary financial dependence.
