Speaking during a recent teaching, Bishop David Oyedepo stated, “Jesus certified tithing in Matthew 23:23 and Hebrews 7:8.”
He referenced Matthew 23:23, where Jesus addressed the Pharisees’ practice of tithing while emphasizing the greater importance of justice, mercy, and faithfulness. He also referred to Hebrews 7:8, which discusses the receiving of tithes in the context of the priesthood.
